When you see a home with a lot of plants in it, do you think that it looks like a hassle, or do you find it comforting? Most of us would probably say the latter, even though caring for plants might not be something we’re good at.

Having plants in your home is more than just comforting, however. Plants can actually have a very positive effect on the quality of the air in our home as well as our health.

Plants remove pollutants from the air, some of them harmful to humans. While you usually won’t have high levels of chemicals in the air in your home, there are many sources of chemicals in all of our homes, and having plants has been proven to lower the levels of these chemicals in the air.

Plants also add quite a bit of humidity to the air. While this might be pleasant, too much humidity can be harmful to your home, so you might want to have a dehumidifier in case humidity levels are too high.
